Jon-Eric Kronvall, CFTA, CFE - President & testifying expert

Jon-Eric Kronvall is a testifying expert witness and consultant with more than 35 years in financial services. He is President of Esoteric Advisors, a dedicated expert-witness and consulting firm, and Chief Investment Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Wealth Innovation, a Registered Investment Adviser.


Areas of Focus

Mr. Kronvall's work centers on fiduciary governance, trust and estate disputes, banking and lending practices, investment advisory standards, securities regulation, and complex financial structures. He is frequently engaged in matters involving broker-dealer conduct (including Reg BI and fiduciary standards), RIA compliance, multi-line banking and lending practices, and institutional governance and employment issues, as well as disputes involving complex or non-traditional assets such as cryptocurrency and digital assets, private equity, hedge funds, DSTs, insurance and annuity strategies, nonqualified executive benefit plans, and offshore or cross-border arrangements.


Professional Background

Mr. Kronvall spent 26 years with Wells Fargo in senior leadership roles during critical institutional periods, including the 2008 financial crisis, at times overseeing approximately 1,000 employees across sales, compliance, operations, lending, and cross-border oversight. His responsibilities spanned risk management, public relations, consumer and business loan portfolios, insurance and investment partnerships, and integrated retail, business, commercial, and private‑banking lines serving high‑ and ultra‑high‑net‑worth clients.


Credentials and Expert Work

Mr. Kronvall holds the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation and the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential and maintains securities, real‑estate, and insurance licenses, including Series 7TO (via FINRA MQP) and Series 66. He is a Voting Member of the Securities Experts Roundtable and serves on the Board of the Central Coast and Valley Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He regularly develops standards‑based frameworks, financial reconstructions, and damages assessments and has been admitted as an expert in state‑court trials, providing expert reports, declarations, depositions, and trial testimony for both claimants and respondents.

Karolina golabek - operations officer

Ms. Karolina Golabek is the Operations Officer for Esoteric Advisors, overseeing the operational, administrative, and logistical support that underpins expert witness and consulting engagements. She coordinates calendars and case workflows, manages records and data systems, and helps ensure accurate, timely communication with clients and counsel.


In addition to operations management, Ms. Golabek provides analytical support on active matters, including organizing and reviewing discovery materials, assisting with the preparation and editing of expert reports, and helping to develop exhibits and timelines. Her work promotes clarity, consistency, and quality control across case deliverables.


Ms. Golabek brings more than 12 years of experience in customer service, administration, and management. Her background in fast‑paced, detail‑sensitive environments informs her focus on reliability, organization, and responsive support for both experts and counsel.

Robert Lawson - securities & insurance expert witness

Mr. Robert Lawson has nearly 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, specializing in securities, investments, retirement plans, and insurance. He is President and Chief Compliance Officer of Barrington Capital Management, Inc., a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) founded in 1988, and President and Managing Principal of Barrington Financial Consulting Group, Inc., a securities and insurance litigation consulting firm. 


Mr. Lawson serves as a FINRA and NFA Arbitrator (FINRA Chair‑Qualified) and FINRA Mediator, presiding over disputes involving breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, failure to supervise, misrepresentation, breach of contract, monetary damages, and employment issues. As a securities and insurance expert witness and litigation support consultant, he is retained by both claimants and respondents in FINRA arbitrations, mediations, and court matters.

julian metcalf, MPA, CIA, CFE - Governmental auditing & anal

Julian Metcalf is an authority in governmental financial and operational auditing with extensive experience in public‑sector analytics and audit services. His 18‑year career includes roles with the San Francisco Budget and Legislative Analyst Office and Moody’s Investors Service, focusing on transparency, efficiency, and financial clarity for government entities.
Mr. Metcalf is CEO and Partner at GPP Analytics Inc., where he leads audit and assessment engagements for government organizations. His work emphasizes accountability, compliance, and risk analysis, and he serves as President of the Institute of Internal Auditors San Fernando Valley Chapter and on the Strategy Committee of the Association of Local Government Auditors.

james Earwicker - corporate finance & accounting

James Earwicker – Corporate Finance & Accounting

James Earwicker has 30 years of experience in finance, financial management, and accounting, combining CEO and CFO roles in small and middle‑market firms with nearly 24 years as a Vice President at Wells Fargo Bank. He has experience providing depositions, written statements, and court testimony in financial and commercial matters.


Mr. Earwicker is an Adjunct Professor of Finance at National University’s School of Business Management, where he teaches Business Finance, Corporate Valuation, and Managerial Accounting. His background supports analysis and explanation of complex financial statements, valuation issues, and corporate finance questions in litigation contexts.
